TEACHER DEVELOPMENT
Great teachers help create great students.
Knowledge Channel Foundation, Inc. (KCFI) believes that teachers are key to learning. By creating opportunities to learn new teaching strategies through professional development, educators can confidently alter their teaching styles and curricula to better suit their student’s needs.
“We want to get inside the classroom and take a look at the ways our learners learn, and how our teachers teach. The interaction between teachers and students is most important. We always want to have a friendly teaching-learning environment.”
Dr. Fe Hidalgo
Former Education Secretary and KCFI Consultant for Education
Since 2013, KCFI has deepened its program for teachers through LEEP or Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-based Pedagogies. LEEP teaches principals and teachers dynamic and creative strategies in order to engage their learners and at the same time, help them develop 21st Century learning skills which are embedded in the K to 12 framework of the Department of Education. Combined with the multi-media learning resources of Knowledge Channel, educators are shown how to create positive learning experiences in their classrooms based on the educational theory of constructivism.
To date, LEEP has trained more than 3,000 teachers in more than 900 schools nationwide
KNOWLEDGE CHANNEL TEACHING IN THE NEW NORMAL (KCTINN)
The Knowledge Channel Training in the New Normal (KCTINN) formerly called Learning Effectively through Enhanced and Evidence-Based Pedagogies (LEEP), is an intensive 3-day training on how to use and maximize our video lessons as key learning tools in the new normal. It aims to create and foster positive learning experiences even without face-to-face interactions and encourages support from the parents in assisted instruction.
KCTINN is the only professional development program of its kind in the Philippines that brings together Knowledge Channel-prescribed and tested distance learning pedagogies and knowledge Channel’s localized and contextualized multimedia learning resources. It is a three-day online training for teachers and principals, with synchronous sessions in the morning using google apps, and asynchronous sessions in the afternoon using Facebook messenger. Participant schools taking the program receive a Knowledge Channel’s Portable Media Library of around 2,000 video lessons, educational games, and other learning resources.
